Why OziDesktop

Why work with us

  • We plan with you during the year, not only when the return is due.

  • One team handles the planning, the accounts and the return, so the numbers match.

  • We explain each option in plain English and leave the decision with you.

How it works

  1. Talk it through

We learn how the business is set up, how the year is going and what you have planned.

  2. Review and estimate

We review your figures and estimate the tax position for the year.

  3. Options and next steps

We go through the options with you and agree what to do before the year ends.

What we need from you

  • Access to your accounting software (Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks)
  • Your latest tax returns and financial statements
  • Details of your entity structure and who owns or benefits from each entity
  • Any plans for the coming months, such as large purchases, hiring or selling assets

FAQs

Common questions

When should we start tax planning?

Before the year ends, while there is still time to act on what we find. Talk to us earlier if a big change is coming, such as selling an asset or bringing in a partner.

Is tax planning the same as preparing the tax return?

No. The return reports what already happened. Planning looks at the rest of the year first, so the choices you make are deliberate. We can do both.

Do we need your bookkeeping service for this?

No. You can keep your own books. We need access to your figures, and we check them before we rely on them.

How is the fee worked out?

We agree a fixed fee with you upfront, based on the entities involved and the work you need.

Need something outside this scope?

Every business is different. If you need additional accounting, bookkeeping, advisory or specialist work, we'll explain what's required and agree the scope with you before proceeding.
